Abstract

The formation of intellectual capital (IC) of medical and health sciences at scientific institutions (SIs) is highly topical for all people on the world. The object of the research is formation of IC of medical and health sciences at SIs while the subject of the research is the comparative analyses of the efficiency of the involvement of academic staff and PhD students in the formation of IC of medical and health sciences at SIs of Latvia. The objective of the research is to study the involvement of academic staff and PhD students in the formation of IC of medical and health sciences at SIs in Latvia in the period from 2013 to 2018. The following tasks were determined to reach the objective: to study the formation of IC of medical and health sciences at SIs; to identify the concept of the efficiency of the involvement of academic staff and PhD students in the formation of IC of medical and health sciences; to calculate main indicators thereof, and, to carry out the comparative analysis of indicators characterising the efficiency of the involvement of academic staff and PhD students in the formation of IC of medical and health sciences at SIs in Latvia. Research me-thods used in the paper are content analysis, economic analysis, and economic experiment.

Dr. Inese Spica is lead researcher at the Scientific Institution Business Competence Centre and professor at the ISMA University. She received her PhD in economics sciences from University of Latvia. She is editor of scientific journals, monographs, chief of international scientific conferences on Business Competences, Trade Marketing, Business Environment.

Sarmite Jegere, SJ

Dr. Sarmite Jegere is lead researcher at the Scientific Institution Business Competence Centre in Riga, Latvia. She received her PhD in economics sciences from University of Latvia. Her research interests are effective cultural entrepreneurship management, cultural tourism products, creative industries and intellectual capital formation in education branch.

Ernests Spics, ES

Ernests Spics is Researcher at the Scientific Institution Business Competence Centre. He obtained his Masters degree in Public Administration at the University of Latvia and the Professional qualification of the Choreographer at the Music Conservatoire of Latvia. His publications focuses on ethnoproducts, its marketing management and intellectual capital formation.

Lada Kalinina, LK

Dr. Lada Kalinina is lead researcher at the Scientific Institution Business Competence Centre in Riga, Latvia and  president at the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce. She received her PhD in economics sciences. Her research focuses on business microenvironment, business macroenvironment, financial management, strategic management, risk management and intellectual capital formation.
