Abstract

In the present situation of the formation of high-quality intellectual capital at scientific institutions in Latvia, the theme of the research is highly topical. The object of the research is the formation of high-quality intellectual capital at scientific institutions in various scientific sectors while the subject of the research is the comparative analysis of the efficiency of high-quality intellectual capital formation at scientific institutions in various scientific sectors of Latvia. The objective of the research is the comparative analysis of the efficiency of high-quality intellectual capital formation at scientific institutions in various scientific sectors of Latvia in the period from 2013 to 2018. The following tasks were determined to reach the objective: to study the formation of high-quality intellectual capital at scientific institutions in various scientific sectors of Latvia; to identify the concept of the efficiency of high-quality intellectual capital formation in various scientific sectors; to calculate main indicators thereof, and, to carry out the comparative analysis of indicators characterising the efficiency of high-quality intellectual capital formation at scientific institutions in various scientific sectors in Latvia. Research methods used in the paper are content analysis, economic analysis, and economic experiment.

Rozite Katrina Ponne, Researcher at the Scientific Institution Business Competence Centre

Rozite Katrina Ponne is currently a PhD student at the Latvian Academy of Culture and Researcher at the Scientific Institution Business Competence Centre. She obtained her Masters degree and Bachelors degree in Arts Sciences at the Latvian Academy of Culture. Her research focuses on etnicity studies and intellectual capital formation.

Ernests Spics

Ernests Spics, Researcher at the Scientific Institution Business Competence Centre

Ernests Spics is a Researcher at the Scientific Institution Business Competence Centre. He obtained his Master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of Latvia and the Professional Qualifications of the Choreographer at the Music Conservatoire of Latvia. His research focusses on cultural products management, ethnoproducts export and intellectual capital.

Baiba Berzina

Baiba Berzina is a Researcher at the Scientific Institution Business Competence Centre. She obtained her Master’s degree in Business Administration at the ISMA University and the Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Latvia. Her research focusses on customer management, business competences  and intellectual capital formation.

Peteris Ponnis is a Researcher at the Scientific Institution Business Competence Centre. He obtained his Master’s degree in Arts Sciences at the University of Wismar and Bachelors degree in Arts Sciences at the Latvian Academy of Art. His research focusses on light design products, light architehture management and intellectual capital.
