The purpose of this research was to determine if there is a gap between a course adapted from a face-to-face to a virtual format and a course specifically designed to be taught in a virtual environment through an LMS. The results showed a gap of more than 10%, with the experimental group obtaining an average final grade 23% higher than the control group. A 24% improvement in grades was observed with the increase in supervisory activities in one unit of the course. The tutor-teacher's expertise and willingness to help students were key elements to the success of undergraduate students.
